Shipping to New York involves a dense urban environment where Doorman high-rises and pre-war walk-ups are the norm. Standard international couriers often drop parcels unmonitored at street doorways, making them vulnerable to porch piracy, or fail delivery when access codes are missing. DDExpress partners with USPS and UPS to ensure shipments are delivered securely to apartment mailrooms, front desks, or handed directly to recipients with full SMS/email tracking updates.
On the customs front, the US Tariff Act Section 321 allows individual imports up to $800 USD per day duty-free for personal consumption. DDExpress submits electronic advance data (EAD) prior to flight departure, ensuring accurate descriptions and declared values for automated green-channel clearance without customs duties or clearance delays.
New York winters are notoriously long and freezing. Heavy down jackets, coats, thermal underwear, and bedding are essential for students and residents. However, Taobao sellers pack these in bulky cardboard boxes filled with air bubbles. Under the international air volumetric formula (L×W×H÷6000), a 2 kg jacket is often charged as 6 to 8 kg volumetric weight.
The DDExpress Nanjing warehouse utilizes industrial heat-seal vacuum compression machines. After 100% physical inspection, our packaging team removes unnecessary cardboard and compresses bulky winter wear by 50% to 70%, pulling the chargeable weight down to actual weight. This saves customers tens of dollars per carton. We also provide 30 days of free warehouse storage so you can consolidate packages from multiple Taobao and Pinduoduo sellers.
Compliance with US CBP, FDA, and USDA regulations is mandatory: [Permitted Categories]: 1) Clothing, footwear, and bedding: winter parkas, daily apparel, shoes, home textiles (free vacuum compression included); 2) Study materials and daily essentials: Chinese books, office stationery, phone accessories, non-battery daily items; 3) Commercially sealed ambient snacks: hot pot base, nuts, dried mushrooms, tea, river snail noodles without meat chunks; 4) Personal over-the-counter Chinese remedies: Lianhua Qingwen, Banlangen, digestive tablets in reasonable quantities for personal use.
[Strictly Prohibited Goods]: 1) Any meat products (pork jerky, beef jerky, duck neck, sausages, instant noodles with meat packets) which are confiscated and fined by USDA; 2) Counterfeit luxury brand items; 3) Pure lithium batteries, large power banks, unsealed liquids, powders, or flammable items.
