Under Spanish customs regulations, all non-EU personal packages are subject to 21% IVA (Impuesto sobre el Valor Añadido). Packages sent via traditional postal DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) methods frequently face customs detention at Madrid Barajas. Recipients receive certified notifications to register on the ADTPostales platform, upload DNI/NIE identification documents, provide purchase invoices, and pay Correos administrative handling fees of €15 to €25, risking parcel return or abandonment if procedures are delayed.
The DDExpress [China-to-Spain Air Express Line] solves this problem completely with a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) service model. Your upfront shipping rate covers domestic export procedures, air transport, Spanish commercial customs release, and full 21% IVA payment. Licensed customs brokers manage clearance in bulk, allowing parcels to proceed directly to Correos or SEUR for delivery without recipient paperwork or unexpected fees.
