Bucharest, Romania is home to the largest Chinese commercial wholesale hub in Eastern Europe—the renowned **Dragonul Roșu (Red Dragon) Market**, housing thousands of overseas Chinese merchants, wholesale traders, enterprise managers, and university students studying in Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca. However, ordering apparel, merchandise, household goods, and regional Chinese snacks from Taobao, Pinduoduo, or 1688 to Romania involves severe logistics roadblocks:
First is **unreliable postal transit and high package loss rates**. Traditional international postal parcels wander through multiple Eastern European postal sorting facilities, taking 2 to 3 months to arrive, often freezing without tracking updates or vanishing in transit. Second is **stringent Romanian customs audits and VAT bottlenecks**. Romanian border authorities enforce rigorous checks on non-EU cargo. Shipments under standard DDU often get stuck in customs bonded warehouses, demanding tedious personal paperwork and steep demurrage storage fees.
Third is **inflated volumetric billing on winter garments**. Romanian winters are freezing, creating immense demand for Chinese down jackets and heavy coats. Standard forwarders billing on dimensional formulas (L×W×H ÷ 6000) charge exorbitant rates for puffy items. DDExpress solves these barriers through express direct flights, DDP pre-cleared customs, and industrial vacuum compression.
At our centralized Nanjing logistics center, DDExpress offers a seamless shopping experience for buyers in Romania:
1. **Free 30-Day Storage for Multi-Shop Orders**: Ship parcels from Taobao, Pinduoduo, JD.com, and 1688 directly to our Nanjing facility. Every inbound carton is barcode-scanned, weighed, and photographed in high resolution. Enjoy up to 30 days of free warehouse storage while waiting for all your merchant packages to arrive; 2. **Outer Box Removal & Industrial Vacuum Packing**: Upon consolidation, our staff strips redundant merchant shoe boxes and filler paper. Puffy winter parkas and bedding undergo **high-power commercial heat-sealed vacuum compression**, shrinking exterior volume by 50% to 70% and saving substantial dimensional freight fees; 3. **5-Ply Reinforced Corrugated Cartons & 360-Degree Stretch Film**: Consolidated shipments are packed into heavy-duty 5-ply cartons and fully enveloped in high-strength waterproof stretch wrap, guarding your cargo against moisture and rough handling across international transit.
Following the removal of the EU €22 tax-free import threshold, all cross-border commercial consignments entering Romania are subject to statutory import taxation:
**Romania Value Added Tax (TVA)**: Romania levies a standard **19% TVA (Taxa pe Valoarea Adăugată)** on imported consumer goods. Under traditional postal shipping, recipients face unexpected customs administrative handling surcharges, lengthy paper declarations, and mandatory local post office collection.
**The DDExpress DDP Advantage (Delivered Duty Paid)**: DDExpress provides a dedicated **DDP Express Air Freight service** for Romania. All customs declarations and 19% TVA payments are pre-computed, processed electronically, and settled by our customs brokerage team prior to dispatch. When the plane touches down in Europe, packages clear through dedicated priority commercial green lanes without recipient intervention or surprise fees, proceeding straight to final home delivery.
